In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep, and the spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light that it was good, and God separated between the light and between the darkness.
God called the light Day, and the darkness Night; and there was evening and there was morning, one day.
God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it separate between waters and waters.
God made the firmament and divided between the waters which were under the firmament and between the waters which were above the firmament and it was so.
God called the firmament heavens, and there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered to one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
God called the dry land earth, and the gathering of the waters he called seas, and God saw that it was good.
God said, Let the land bring forth tender grass, herb yielding seed according to its kind, and tree bearing fruit whose seed is in it upon the land, and it was so.
The earth brought forth tender grass, herb yielding seed according to its kind, and tree making fruit whose seed is in it according to its kind, and God saw that it was good.
And there was evening and there was morning, day three.
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide between the day and the night; and let them be for signs and for appointed seasons and for days and years.
And they were for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light upon the earth and it was so.
God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night, and the stars.
And God gave them in the firmament of the heavens to give light upon the earth.
And to rule during the day and during the night season, and to separate between the light and the darkness; and God saw that it was good.
And there was evening, and there was morning, day four.
God said, Let the waters swarm with swarming creatures of living soul, and let birds fly across the face of the firmament of the heavens over the earth.
God created the great sea-monsters and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind, and God saw that it was good.
And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the land.
And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth a living creature according to its kind, cattle and that which creeps and a wild beast of the earth according to its kind, and it was so.
God made the living creatures of the land according to their kind, and the cattle according to their kind, and every creeping thing of the ground according to its kind, and God saw that it was good.
God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over every thing upon the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
God created the human in his image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.
And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the bird of the heavens and over every living creature that moves upon the earth.
And God said, Behold, I have given to you every herb seeding seed which upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in which fruit of a tree seeding seed; to you it shall be for food.
And to every living creature of the earth, and to every bird of the heavens, and to all the creeping things upon the earth, in which is a living soul, I have given every green herb for food, and it was so.
And God saw all that was made, and indeed it was very good, and there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
